Welcome to EnzymeRx, where we are changing the treatment paradigm for refractory gout.

EnzymeRx is a private, clinical stage biotechnology company founded in 2008 focused on enzyme-based therapeutics. Our lead compound is Uricase-PEG 20 , in development for the treatment of refractory gout and for the management of hyperuricemia associated with tumor lysis syndrome. Both of these conditions occur when uric acid levels rise too high, resulting in the formation of urate crystals in the joints and soft tissues. EnzymeRx acquired Uricase-PEG 20 from Polaris Pharmaceuticals, which received an equity stake in EnzymeRx. Uricase-PEG 20 is currently in phase 1 clinical testing. Our future clinical development goals include a phase 2 study in refractory gout patients and proof-of-concept studies in oncology patients with, or at risk for, tumor lysis syndrome.

We have begun the process of building our pipeline the identification of several additional enzyme-based therapeutics and technologies for improving the pharmacological properties of these proteins. We are nearing the initiation of feasibility studies on our next project.
